Named in honor of the man whose talent still endures in Savannah, the William Jay Society (WJS) is a group of young professionals aged twenty-one and older who support Telfair Museums. Society members enjoy art-related social activities while volunteering their time and creativity to broaden the influence of the museum in Savannah and the surrounding community.
Monthly events throughout the year include private tours of cultural sites, local homes, museums, and galleries. Through these special opportunities and activities, members are introduced to other individuals also interested in the arts and culture. Members of the William Jay Society assist with several Telfair Museums events, including the annual Telfair Ball. The group’s premier event is the fun-filled Monte Carlo Night fundraiser. Proceeds from this annual event support art acquisitions for the museum’s permanent collection.
