In 2007, a new arm of TAG was established. WIBITAG, Women In Business In TAG, was created for working women who want to volunteer time to the museum and support the programming and activities of TAG on a more limited basis.
Telfair Academy Guild meetings are held on the second Monday of the month from September through May, with the exception of December. In addition to a social time, a membership meeting is held and a program presented. WIBITAG members hold four to six evening meetings per year. The WIBITAG meetings are geared toward networking and learning about the professions of other members with the goal of increasing business and social contacts. WIBITAG members may also attend TAG meetings and vice versa. A monthly newsletter, Grapevine, contains announcements and articles of interest.
The Art of Great Fashion and The Artful Table are TAG’s two major annual fundraisers. Profits from these events are used for museum projects as determined by the museum director, and the general membership. TAG and WIBITAG members also provide volunteer support for other museum activities.
