Telfair Museums invites Savannah teenagers, grades 9-12, to participate in the Telfair Teen Advisory Council (TAC). TAC helps develop programming at the museum for teens. It is designed for its members to promote educational programming throughout the community by distributing promotional materials, designing flyers and determining creative ways to promote programs at the museum.
TAC Members are given the opportunity to volunteer in the museum during public programs in order to fulfill their schools’ volunteer service requirements. They are also the chief facilitators of any education program specifically designed for teenagers. For example, during the artist interview/lectures, the advisory council will be responsible for leading the discussion between the artist and teens.
By participating in the Teen Advisory Council, members have the opportunity to learn about the career opportunities available within a museum, particularly in education and marketing. Participation in the Teen Advisory Council is an incentive for graduating seniors in helping to make them desirable candidates to universities that have more competitive acceptance programs.

Camila Donoso
Tenenbaum Intern, January 2011 to June 2011; started as Education intern May, 2010
I was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador and came to Savannah when I was in second grade. I am at senior at Savannah Early College with plans to go to Emory in the fall. I plan to pursue a career in medicine and possibly in anesthesiology, but photography is my also passion. Being an intern at the Jepson allowed me to find and express my artistic and creative side, and ultimately led to my love for capturing emotions and life events through a lens. As an intern, I met many influential community members through networking and chattering away! Most importantly, I met photographer and columnist Bunny Ware, whom I’ve now had the pleasure of working with for over a year. I have been part of the Telfair Teen Advisory Council since I was in 9th grade, and this year I am proud to be the Chairperson. Working for the Jepson Center opened up my horizons and the door to many other opportunities.
