On the 100th anniversary of the creation of Girl Scouts, Telfair Museums takes a look at Girl Scout founder Juliette Gordon Low’s interest in art, both as an artist and as an art organizer.
In addition to creating her own art, Low took a leading role in the Savannah art scene in the early 20th century as a founding member of the Savannah Art Club, which was established in 1920. Through this new organization, Low and other Savannah artists sought to promote and improve the quality of fine arts created, offered, and displayed in the city.

Juliette Gordon Low and her Contemporaries in Savannah’s Art Scene will expand the scope of knowledge about of one of America’s most influential women by bringing together a variety of works created by her and other Savannah artists working in the first half of the last century.
