Exhibitions
A
dynamic extension of the art experiences offered by the Telfair Museum of Art
are special exhibitions from the collection and exciting traveling
shows from all over the world. Reaching diverse
audiences in all parts of the community, the Telfair presents a
broad variety of shows, ranging from Impressionism to Native American
art.
Past
major exhibitions include Frederick Carl Frieseke: the Evolution
of an American Impressionist and Andrew
Wyeth: Close Friends (both 2001); The Lamps of Tiffany:
Highlights from the Neustadt Collection, Visualizing the
Blues: 140 Years of the American South in Photographs; the
Georgia Triennial (2002); American Anthem: Highlights
from the American Folk Art Museum (2003); From
Apache to Zuni: Native American Objects from the Lowe Art Museum
(2004); Maxfield Parrish: Master
of Make-Believe (2005); and the Kirk
Varnedoe Collection (2006); and Robert
Rauschenberg: Scenarios and Short Stories (2006).
