Kirk Varnedoe Collection
On view at the Telfair’s Jepson Center for the Arts
Assembled in honor of the late Savannah native, scholar, and MoMA curator Kirk Varnedoe (1946-2003), the Kirk Varnedoe Collection contains some of the finest examples of contemporary art in the Telfair’s permanent collection. This remarkable group of works on paper features pieces by some of the most pivotal artists of the past fifty years including Jasper Johns, Chuck Close, Roy Lichtenstein, Jeff Koons, Robert Rauschenberg, Frank Stella, Richard Serra, Richard Avedon, and many others.

“William Christenberry’s Vernacular: Documentary and Art”

Telfair's Jepson Center for the Arts: Neises Auditorium
William Christenberry has recorded and interpreted the vernacular architecture of Hale County, Alabama,  in paintings, photographs, mixed media and sculpture. From barns to churches to a palm reader’s house, Christenberry has revisited specific examples of folk architecture repeatedly, recording the effects of time on these structures. Join Daves Rossell, a professor of architectural history at the Savannah College of Art and Design, for an exploration of vernacular architectural forms in Christenberry’s art.

Savannah Yoga Center & TMA Present Summer Yoga Workshop
“The Art of Moving into Stillness”
with Savannah Yoga Center Director, Kelley J. Boyd

Surround yourself with contemporary artwork while learning to quiet your mind, lengthen your body, and open your heart. The Telfair Museum of Art offers this unique opportunity to practice yoga in galleries that inspire quiet and contemplation. All are welcome- flexibility of the body not required. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one and dress ready to practice yoga.
$20 per workshop (non-members)

Jepson Gospel Brunch
Jepson Center for the Arts
Join us for brunch at the Jepson Center and enjoy the musical talents of Temple of Glory Community Church Choir. Ticket price of $10 for non-members (children under 6 are free and 6-12 years are half price) includes access to fabulous exhibitions in the Jepson’s galleries and the live gospel performance.  A specially priced brunch of $15 will be served from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. in the Eckburg Atrium (children under 6 are free and 6-12 years are half price). Music performance at 1:30 p.m.  Sponsors: HIS Radio 91.9 FM, Magic 103.9, and Savor Savannah.
